Land Rover has silently launched a price cut S Business edition of its flagship SUV Freelander 2 in the Indian car market. It will be a new base model of Freelander 2, which will be priced around Rs. 2 lakh cheaper than the existing one. The company has removed some features to make it affordable. The new Freelander 2 S Business Edition misses out on features like the sunroof, rear camera, front doors’ puddle lamps, driver and passenger’s arm rests and powered front seats.
The base model of the vehicle gets a smaller 4.2 inch colour display with a 6-speaker audio system instead of 7-inch touchscreen available in regular models. The new model is powered by the same 2.2-litre TD4 turbo diesel engine, mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox, which develops 148bhp and 420Nm of top torque. The transmission transmits powers to all four-wheels. The Land Rover Freelander 2 S Business Edition is priced at Rs. 37.63 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
