We informed you earlier that Mahindra is working on two new electric vehicles, which will be launched in the country by 2019. The first model to be launched is the Mahindra KUV100 Electric, which has been spotted testing for the first time in India. The KUV100 electric is scheduled to make its global debut at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo, while the launch will take place in the second half of 2018.
Visually, the KUV100 electric looks similar to the 2017 Mahindra KUV100 NXT. However, the spotted model misses out on exhaust pipe and the lack of engine noise confirms that Mahindra is testing the electric version of the micro SUV. It is wrapped in Fiery Orange shade with a Midnight black rear bumper. Additionally, the left rear window is covered up and is equipped with black piping that runs to the bottom.
The homegrown automaker is planning to invest around Rs 4,000 crore in electric vehicles in the next 3-5 years. Besides KUV100 electric, Mahindra is also working on the electric version of the Scorpio SUV. If media reports are to be believed, the homegrown automaker is also considering the XUV500 electric that could be launched by 2020.
