Skoda India has officially announced that the Kushaq mid-sized SUV has received around 6,000 bookings since its launch on June 28, 2021. The Skoda Kushaq currently commands a waiting period of up to two months, depending on variant, city and colors. Skoda India has recorded an impressive 234 percent growth when compared to July 2020.
Skoda Auto India has sold 3,080 cars in July 2021 as against 922 cars in July last year. Skoda currently delivers the 1.0L variants of the Kushaq. Deliveries for the more powerful 1.5L variants will begin by mid-August, 2021.
The Skoda Kushaq is available in 3 trim levels – Active, Ambition and Style. The Kushaq 1.0L version is priced between Rs 10.50 lakh and Rs 15.80 lakh, while the 1.5L version is offered in two variants – Style MT & Style AT – priced at Rs 16.20 lakh and Rs 17.60 lakh respectively.
In order to further improve sales, Skoda will open several new dealerships. The company aims to have over 100 dealerships by the end of August. The dealership could will increase to 225 by the end of 2022. Skoda is working hard to improve its after sales and service. The Czech automaker announces various initiatives to offer customers peace of mind.
The Kushaq’s 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine is capable of producing 113bhp of power and 178Nm of torque. It is offered with 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearboxes. The 1.5L engine churns out 147bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG automatic.
Skoda expects to further boost sales with the introduction of new mid-sized sedan, rumoured to be called the Skoda Slavia. The new mid-sized sedan will replace the existing Rapid sedan. It will be based on the MQB AO IN platform, which underpins the Skoda Kushaq and the soon-to-be-launched Volkswagen Taigun.
