Kia Trazo Premium SUV India Testing Begins; Launch Early Next Year
In terms of power and fuel efficiency, the Kia Trazo will be as good as the Hyundai Creta.
The Indian automobile industry will witness some major events in 2019. One of them will be the entry of Kia Motors with an all-new premium SUV based on the SP Concept that was previewed at the 2018 Auto Expo. The production version of the Kia SP concept is likely to be named – Kia Trazo. Prior to its official launch, the carmaker has begun testing the SUV on Indian roads.

In India, the Kia Trazo will be placed against the Hyundai Creta that costs between Rs 9.50 lakh – Rs 15.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Speculations suggest that the prices of Kia’s upcoming SUV will fall between Rs 11 lakh – Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom). If launched in this price range, the Kia Trazo SUV will be more expensive than the Creta.
In terms of power and fuel efficiency, the Kia Trazo will be as good as the Hyundai Creta. And the reason behind this is the same engine setup – i.e. a 126bhp, 1.6L CRDi diesel, a 88bhp, 1.4L diesel and a 121bhp, 1.6L petrol. The new Kia SUV will also share its transmissions with the Hyundai Creta. That means, it will be available with both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox options. Interior details of the Kia Trazo are still under the wraps. Though, it is likely to be loaded with several advanced comfort and safety features. The recently spied prototype appears similar to the Hyundai Creta. Design elements such as a tiger nose grille, rectangular headlamps, large fog lamps, pronounced wheel arches and silver roof rails and ORVMs give it a sporty and aggressive look.
