Kia To Launch Marrazo & Ertiga Rival In India
The new Kia MPV will share its platform with the Kia Seltos.
Kia Motors is ready to start its Indian innings with all-new Seltos compact SUV that recently made its global debut. The carmaker has already confirmed that the Kia Seltos will go on sale in late August, followed by its second product in December 2019 or January 2020. Talking to Autocar, Han Woo Park, CEO, and President, Kia Motors Corporation has revealed that the company is considering an MPV for the Indian market.
The upcoming Kia MPV will share its platform with the Kia Seltos. In India, it will be stacked up against the Mahindra Marazzo and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. In Kia’s global lineup, the new MPV will be slotted below the Kia Carens 7-seater MPV. The company will export its new budget MPV in the markets like Indonesia, where MPVs are quite popular. Kia Motors India has confirmed that it will launch 4 new products in the next coupld of years. Currently, the carmaker has 250 dealerships across 160 cities in the country. The Korean carmaker has setup its manufacturing plant in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. The factility has an annual production capacity of 2 lakh units. With the addition of the Anantapur plant, Kia’s global capacity stands at 4.1 million units per year. The carmaker is also considering manufacture an electric vehicle in India instead of importing it.
