Kia Telluride Is The World Car of the Year 2020

Kia’s flagship model – the Telluride SUV and the Soul EV won the ‘World Car of the Year’ and the ‘World Urban Car’ respectively at the 2020 World Car Awards. The Kia Telluride was rewarded by the judging panel for its distinctive design and impressive practicality.

The World Car of the Year – the Kia Telluride has been one of the most awarded models since its introduction in 2019. The fully-electric Soul EV was named the ideal car for the city by the jury, combining zero-emission performance and impressive electric range with a compact body, bold design, and high levels of practicality.

The winners of the World Car Awards are decided by an independent international jury comprising 86 highly-experienced, well-respected automotive journalists from 24 countries around the world. The Kia Telluride, currently on sale in North America and in many of global markets. The SUV can seat up to eight passengers, and is equipped with several high-end comfort and convenience features.

The Kia Telluride big-size SUV is only available in left-hand-drive configuration. The company has no immediate plans to introduce the RHD version of the SUV in any of the market. In terms of proposition, the SUV is 5,000mm in length, 1,990mm in width and 1,750mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,900mm. It is powered by a 3.8L, V6 engine that churns out a maximum power output of 291bhp at 6,000rpm and 355Nm of torque at 5,200rpm. For transmission duties, it gets an 8-speed automatic gearbox with active on-demand all-wheel drive system.

The Kia Soul EV comes equipped with a powerful battery-electric powertrain with a choice of 64 or 39.2kWh battery packs. It is claimed to offer an electric range of 452 kilometers on a single charge.
