Kia SP (Kia Trazor) SUV – New Details Emerge
Scheduled to be launched in August 2019, the Kia SP SUV (Kia Trazor) will challenge the likes of Hyundai Creta and Nissan Kicks
It is no secret that Kia Motor Company is readying a 5-seater premium SUV for the Indian market. The SUV first debuted as the SP concept at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. The production-ready model will be launched in the Indian market in the mid-2019, most probably in August.
The Kia SP based model will be the brand’s global compact SUV, which will first go on sale in India and Chinese market. The Korean automaker could also introduce this SUV in the Brazilian market It will be built on the next-generation Hyundai Creta’s platform. The SUV is likely to be called Kia Trazor, as it was the winner of an Indian Kia contest.

Kia is aiming to offer feature-loaded cabin to SP based SUV. The SUV is expected to arrive with best-in-class features. It will feature power-adjustable driver’s seat and ventilated front seats, and an advanced touchscreen infotainment system with voice recognition and telematics system. Other features will include a 360 degree camera, On-board Wi-Fi and wireless charging. The top-spec model could also receive head-up display, ambient lighting and fully digital instrument console. Going by the features on offer, it is clear that the Kia SP SUV will be positioned above the Hyundai Creta in terms of pricing. The Trazor is likely to be priced in the range of Rs 11 lakh – Rs 15 lakh. It will be available with 2 new engines – a 118bhp, 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel that is likely to offer around 115bhp. Both manual and automatic gearbox with paddle shifters is likely to be on offer.
