Kia SP Concept-Based SUV Prices Revealed
The trail production of the SUV is reported to commence in January, 2019.
Kia Motors is planning really big for the Indian market. The Korean carmaker will begin its Indian inning with the Kia SP concept based premium SUV that could be named Trazor. Besides this, the company will expand its product portfolio with six new cars in the next three years. The new lineup might include Rio and Picanto hatchbacks, Focus premium sedan, Carnival MPV, Sportage SUV and a sub-4 meter compact SUV.
The Kia SP concept based SUV (Kia Trazor) will be stacked up against multiple products right from Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster to Maruti Suzuki S-Cross and the upcoming Nissan Kicks. While the official prices of the premuim SUV will be revealed during its launch, talking to a media publication Manohar Bhat, Head Sales & Marketing, Kia Motors India, confirmed that its prices will range between Rs 10 lakh – Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom). Engine setup of the Kia SP (Kia Trazor) will include both petrol and diesel powertains with manual and automatic transmission options. Rumour has it that Kia’s first SUV in India will share its engines with the Hyundai Creta that’s currently available with two petrol (1.4L and 1.6L) and a diesel (1.6L) motor. The SUV might also receive a new 1.5L petrol engine, which is likely to get hybrid system by 2023.
