Kia Sonet Gets Segment-Largest 10.25-inch Touchscreen: Interior Details

Korean automaker, Kia will unveil the long-awaited Sonet compact SUV on August 7, 2020. If reports are to be believed, bookings for the new sub-4 meter SUV is also expected to open on the same day. The new model is likely to be launched in September 2020.

Kia Motors has also released new official digital renderings of the Sonet compact SUV, which shows the exterior and interior. The cabin of the new Kia Sonet looks premium and feature loaded. Going by the renderings, it is visible that the sub-4 meter SUV comes equipped with segment-largest 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This system will be compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with UVO Connect connected car technology.

The SUV’s digital instrument console and touchscreen unit placed within a single floating unit. The driver can also opt for different drive and traction modes. There is a two-layer tray to store mobile devices and other things. The air-con vents placed below the touchscreen unit and on either ends of dashboard has metallic, diamond-knurled pattern. The new Sonet will be equipped with features like Bose sound system, wireless charging, a sunroof, air-purifier, rear AC vents, automatic AC, push-button start-stop system and a 360 degree camera.

The Kia Sonet compact SUV will take on the likes of the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra XUV300 and the Hyundai Venue. The new Kia Sonet shares its platform and engine options with the popular Hyundai Venue. It will be offered with 3 engine options – a 82bhp, 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol, a 118bhp, 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol, a 99bhp, 1.5L turbo-charged diesel. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed DCT (1.0L Petrol), a 6-speed torque convertor automatic (Diesel) and a 6-speed IMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission) with 1.0L unit.
