Kia Sonet Compact SUV Interior Explained – Pictures
Kia Sonet will be the next big launch from the Korean carmaker in the country. We have seen a near-production model of the compact SUV at this year’s Auto Expo. Kia says the exterior design and styling of the final model will be more or less similar to the showcased vehicle. Interior details of the Sonet were covered under the tinted black window glasses. Though, the leaked images give us a glimpse of its cabin.
Its major attraction will be a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that’s likely to be carried over from the Seltos. The compact SUV will have a 3-spoke flat-bottom multi-function steering wheel. You can see the vertically oriented rectangle AC vents, which are separated by control buttons.
The Black interior theme with silver accents, seats with contrast red stitching, seatback pockets, adjustable front headrests and front centre armrest will enhance its premium feel and appeal. For entertainment purpose, the Sonet will offer a Bose sound system. We expect that the Kia Sonet will come with all mandatory safety features including airbags, seat-belt warning system, ABS (anti-lock braking system), speed warning alert, reverse parking sensors and central locking with manual override. The higher trims might also get EBD (electronic brake-force distribution), rear view camera and a few more features.
Engine setup of the Sonet will include a 83PS, 1.2L Kappa petrol, a 125PS, 1.0L turbo petrol and a 1.5L diesel unit. While petrol motors will be sourced from the Hyundai Venue, the oil burner will be shared with the Kia Seltos. The diesel engine is likely to be detuned for the Sonet. Transmission options will be a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic unit.
