Kia Sonet Compact SUV Interior Details Revealed

Recently, we have seen spy pictures of the production-ready Kia Sonet subcompact SUV that’s slated to go on sale in August, 2020. Prior to its official launch, the interior details of the vehicle have emerged on the web. The Sonet will have a dual-tone interior with black seat upholstery with red contrast stitching giving it a sporty look.

The silver trim on the steering wheel, doors and AC vents will further enhance its premium appeal. You can notice the 3-spoke flat-bottom multi-function steering wheel and vertically oriented rectangle AC vents. The goodies such as front centre armrest, adjustable front headrests and seatback pockets add to its comfort quotient.

The SUV will come with a 10.25-inch infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Similar to the Seltos, the Kia Sonet will get the brand’s UVO connected car technology. Features such as a Bose sound system, wireless phone charger, climate control, a multi information display, cruise control and keyless entry with push button start will also be on offer. On the safety front, the new subcompact SUV from Kia is likely to offer 6 airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake-force distribution) and rear view camera. Though, it will vary variant wise.

Kia Sonet Auto Expo

Kia Sonet has taken its engine setup from the Hyundai Venue including a 83PS, 1.2L Kappa petrol and a 125PS, 1.0L turbo petrol unit. The diesel motor has been carried over from the Seltos. It comes with a 1.5L unit that’s good enough for 115bhp and 250Nm. Though, Kia will detune the oil burner for the Sonet. It might deliver power close to 100PS. Production of the Sonet will take place at Kia Motors India’s Anantapur based facility in Andhra Pradesh. Prices of the vehicle are likely to start from Rs 7 lakh and go up to Rs 11 lakh.
