Kia Motors recently unveiled its much-awaited premium compact SUV – Kia Seltos. The Korean carmaker has also revealed engine and transmission details of the vehicle. In India, the Seltos will be made available with three engine options – two petrol and a diesel unit. The GT Line trim will get a 1.4L turbocharged petrol engine that will deliver power more than 140bhp. With such power figure, it will become the most powerful SUV in its segment.

The carmaker hasn’t yet revealed details of other two powertrains, though it’s likely to be the naturally aspirated 1.5L petrol and 1.5L turbocharged diesel. The gasoline unit will produce power close to 115bhp. The torque figure of the diesel motor will be more than the Hyundai Creta’s 1.6L diesel engine that develops a maximum torque of 260Nm. All three powertrains are BS6-compliant.
