Kia Seltos will officially make global debut on June 20, 2019

Kia Motors is all set to unveil the much-awaited compact SUV – Kia Seltos in the country on June 20, 2019. It is based on the SP concept that was showcased at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. Internally called SP2i, the Kia Seltos will directly rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Renault Captur, Nissan Kicks and others in its category.

It will be the brand’s global SUV, which will also go on sale in several international markets. The vehicle has been spotted during a commercial shoot in the foreign soil. It is expected that the India-spec Kia Seltos could come with a different nameplate. It was speculated that the Kia SP based SUV could be called the Tuskar; however, Kia is yet to make an official announcement.

The Kia Seltos is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 10 lakh – Rs 16 lakh. The top-spec variants of the SUV will challenge the entry-level and mid-level variants of the Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass and the upcoming MG Hector. In terms of styling, the Kia Seltos will receive the signature Tiger Nose grille. The vehicle gets dual-headlamp setup with separate housing for the LED daytime running lights and the main headlamp. The SUV gets a large front bumper with wider air-dam and LED fog lamp with silver skid plate.

Going by the spy images, it is visible that the Kia Seltos SUV comes with a contrasting roof that looks quite appealing. The rear too looks quite modern, featuring wrap-around LED tail-lights, chrome bar that connects the two tail-lamps, bonnet with strong creases and roof mounted spoiler. The side profile gets flared wheel arches, black plastic cladding, diamond-cut alloys, ORVMs with integrated blinkerss, chrome door handles and roof rails.

The spy images confirm that the Kia Seltos will also come with an optional 4WD system. However, the India-spec model is likely to come in 2WD version only. The vehicle will come equipped with a long list of comfort and convenience features. Some of the features will include a 360 degree camera, segment-largest 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Navigation, Voice command, wireless phone charging, cruise control, automatic climate control, etc. The Kia Seltos will also mark the debut of two new 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. Both manual and automatic versions will be on offer.
