The long wait of the Kia Seltos is finally over, as the Korean carmaker has rolled out the compact SUV in the Indian market. Available in a total of 16 variants across 2 trims (Tech Line and GT Line), the Kia Seltos’ price ranges between Rs 9.69 lakh – Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price, the vehicle takes on multiple products right from Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and Renault Captur to MG Hector, Tata Harrier and Mahindra XUV500.
The carmaker has confirmed that the Seltos has received over 35,000 bookings so far. The compact SUV comes with a 3-year/unlimited kilometre warranty with a 2 year extension option. It will be retailed via 265 Kia dealerships across 160 cities in India.

The Kia Seltos, the production version of the SP concept that broke cover at the 2018 Auto Expo, has been made available with 6 engine-gearbox combinations. Powering the petrol variants is a 1.5L NA and 1.4L GDI turbo engines pushing out a maximum power of 115bhp with 144Nm and 140bhp with 242Nm respectively. The diesel models derive power from a 1.5-litre VGT diesel develops a peak power of 113bhp against 250Nm of torque. The oil burner comes with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission options. The compact SUV offers three driving modes – Normal, Eco and Sport – and 3 terrain modes – Wet, Mud and Sand.
In terms of proportions, the Kia Seltos is bigger than most its closest rivals. It measures 4315mm in length, 1800mm in width and 1620mm in height. Visually, the new compact SUV from Kia has sporty appeal. The Kia Seltos Tech Line trim comes with a beige and black interior theme with leather upholstery, while the GT Line trim features sporty all-black interior with black leather seats featuring red contrast stitching.
The range-topping variant offers a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The list of features includes an 8-inch smart Heads Up Display (HUD), colour MID unit (on the GT Line), 8-speaker Bose Sound System with mood lighting, a flat-bottom steering wheel, ambient lighting, a 360-degreen parking camera, an electric sunroof and wireless phone charging. On the safety front, the Kia Seltos offers six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill start assist, vehicle stability management, blind spot view monitor and front and rear parking sensors.
