Kia Seltos SUV Front, Side and Rear Profile Revealed in New Teaser
The Kia Seltos design is inspired by the SP2i concept.
Kia Motors will launch its first product – the Kia Seltos 5-seater SUV in India in the next few months. The SUV is scheduled to make its global debut in India on June 20, 2019. The Seltos will be brand’s new global SUV, which will also go on sale in select international markets later this year. After releasing multiple teaser and video, Kia has now released a new teaser video highlighting the styling details.
The Kia Seltos is based on the SP concept, which was showcased at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. The SUV has already been caught shooting for the commercial TV advertisement in foreign soil. Going by the images and teaser, it is clear that the production-spec model looks largely identical to the SP2i concept.
The Kia Seltos will be locally developed at the brand’s Anantpur facility in Andhra Pradesh. The Korean automaker has already started the trial production of the SUV. This plant will be used to develop several new products for domestic as well as foreign markets. In fact, Kia has already said that it will launch one new product every six months in India till the year 2022.
The teaser reveals that the Kia Seltos gets the brand’s new design philosophy, featuring striking front fascia. It gets signature Tiger Nose grille, flanked by sharp headlamps with LED daytime running lights. The clamshell bonnet has strong lines that give it a sporty stance. On sides, there are strong character lines that run across the length. It has raked windshield, blacked-out pillars, sloping roofline, shark fin antenna and wing mirrors with integrated blinkers. At the back, the SUV has roof integrated spoiler, sculpted tailgate, slim LED tail-lamps and thick chrome bar between the tail-lamps that houses the Kia badge at the centre. It gets beefier bumper with large diffuser and thick black plastic cladding and silver skid plate.The interior sketch of the Seltos reveals premium and feature-loaded cabin. It gets the segment-largest 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Kia’s Sound Mood Lighting technology, a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, automatic climate control, and in-car WiFi.
Kia hasn’t revealed the engine specifications of the upcoming Seltos SUV. However, it is expected to receive newly developed 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines that will also power the next-gen Hyundai Creta. Media reports also claim that Kia is also working on the sportier Seltos, which will be equipped with a 140PS, 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
