Kia Motors has started dispatching the Seltos compact SUV to its dealerships across the nation. Scheduled to launch on 22nd August, the Kia Seltos has already received over 6,000 bookings in a single day. The Korean carmaker will begin its Indian operations with 265 touchpoints spread across 160 cities. In India, it will be stacked up against the Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and Renault Captur. It will also impact sales of Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500 and the newly-launched MG Hector.
The carmaker has confirmed that the Kia Seltos will be made available with three BS6-compliant engines and four transmission options. There will be two petrol powertrains – a 115bhp, 1.5L and 140bhp, 1.4L turbo GDI. The latter one will be exclusively offered on the GT Line. The diesel variant will come with a 115bhp, 1.5L CRDi motor with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

The 1.5L gasoline unit will be available with a 6-speed manual transmission and a CVT gearbox. The performance-oriented 1.4L petrol engine will come with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox options. Mileage figure of the Seltos diesel will stand at 20.8kmpl, the 1.5L petrol and 1.4L petrol will deliver fuel economy of 16.4kmpl (MT) – 16.3kmpl (CVT) and 16.1kmpl (MT) – 16.2kmpl (DTC) respectively. Kia Seltos comes with several segment-first features such as a 360 degree surround view camera with blind spot display, air purifier, ventilated seats and an 8-inch Head-Up-Display. Other key features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Bose sound system with 8-speakers, UVO connected car system, 7.0-inch MID, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, VSM, HAS, traction control, ESC, cruise control and many more.
