Kia Seltos Official Bookings To Open From July 2019
Kia has confirmed that the official bookings for the Kia Seltos will commence from July 2019.
It was reported that some of the Kia dealerships have started taking pre-orders for the much anticipated Seltos compact SUV. In an official statement, Kia has denied the claims by a few reports which said the company has opened bookings for the SUV. Adding to it, the Kia has confirmed that the official bookings for the Kia Seltos will commence from July 2019.
The Kia Seltos SUV will be launched in our market in August 2019. It is based on the new front-wheel-drive modular platform, which will also underpin the next-gen Hyundai Creta. This platform is compatible enough to accommodate a 7-seater model and different engine options. The Kia Seltos will be made available in 3 engine options – 2 petrol and a diesel unit.
The SUV will also receive the performance oriented GT Line variant, which will be powered by a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 140bhp of power and 242Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch unit. This model will be the most powerful in its category. Other engine options include a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol and a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder diesel, which produces 115bhp/144Nm and 115bhp/250Nm respectively. A six-speed manual gearbox driving the power to the front wheels will come as standard. In terms of proportions, the Kia Seltos is 4,315mm in length, 1,800mm in width and 1,620mm in height. The SUV has a wheelbase of 2,610mm, while the ground clearance stands at 190mm. The Seltos offers a boot space of 433-litres. Expected to be priced around Rs 11 lakh – Rs 16 lakh, the Kia Seltos will take on the likes of Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and the lower and mid variants of Tata Harrier, MG Hector and the Jeep Compass.
