Kia Seltos Lower Variants To Get Sunroof, New Features

Kia Motors will upgrade the Seltos mid-sized SUV with new exterior and interior changes along with new features.

Seeing the rising competition, Kia Motors is now readying to revise the Seltos variant line-up. The 2020 Kia Seltos SUV is reportedly to feature upgraded exterior, interior and new comfort features. Kia is offering 18 variants of the Seltos mid-sized SUV along with 6 engine-gearbox options.

A new media report claims that the Kia Seltos automatic variants – HTK+, HTX, HTX+ and GTX will come equipped with remote engine start. In fact, the lower HTX and GTX variants will also receive powered sunroof and LED cabin lights. The sunroof is currently available in the high-end HTX+ and the GTX+ trims. All variants of the Seltos will come with USB charging for front and rear occupants and an emergency stop signal as standard.

The top-spec Kia Seltos GTX+ trim is available with 2 engine options – a 140bhp, 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol and a 115bhp, 1.5-litre diesel. These variants will also receive all-black interior with contrasting red stitching. Faux metal garnish on the AC control panel and on door grab handles will be added to the mid and high-level variants. The lower-end Kia Seltos HTK+ variant is reportedly to receive faux leather finish on the gear knob and a gloss black finish on the dashboard.

On the exterior, the Kia Seltos HTE and HTK trim levels will receive dual exhaust design on the rear bumper, which is currently available in the high-end variants. There will be metal scuff plates on the HTX trim levels, which is available on the GTX trims. Kia Motors has already started re-opening its dealerships across India. It is expected that the Kia Seltos will receive a slight increase in price. The SUV will directly rival the likes of the new Hyundai Creta, which is gaining decent response from buyers.

The Kia Seltos is available in 3 BSVI compliant engines – a 1.5L petrol, a 1.4L petrol and a 1.5L diesel. While the 1.5L petrol engine producing 115bhp and 144Nm, the turbocharged unit produces 140bhp and 242Nm. The oil burner is good for 115bhp and 250Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual as standard, a CVT (1.5L petrol), a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (a 1.4L turbo-petrol) and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic (a 1.5L diesel).
