Kia Seltos Demand Shoots Up – Variant-Wise Waiting Period Out

The recently launched Kia Seltos has been receiving an excellent response from buyers. The SUV has bagged over 50,000 bookings in just 2 months. Kia is delivering over 7,000 units of the Seltos every month, which is commendable for a new entrant in the highly competitive Indian market. In fact, it outsold the hugely popular and its main competitor Hyundai Creta. The SUV is currently available at a waiting period of over 3 months.

The Seltos waiting period varies between 15 days to 3.5 months depending upon the variant and colour you choose. The turbo-charged variants of the Kia Seltos including Smartstream GTK and GTX manual with 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine comes with a waiting period of 15 days.

The Smartstream HTE, HTK manual and HTK Plus with 1.5-litre petrol engine come with a waiting period of 1 month. The diesel HTK Plus, HTK Plus AT and the HTX variants have a waiting period of 1 month. The 1.4-litre turbo petrol GTX variant with dual-clutch tranmission has a waiting period of 2 months, while the GTX+ petrol manual comes with 2.5 month waiting period. The higher-end variants – HTX and HTX AT petrol, and HTX plus and HTX plus diesel have a waiting period of 3 months. The base HTE diesel has the longest waiting period of 3.5 months. The 1.4L GTX+ petrol and the 1.5L GTX Plus diesel commands a waiting period of 3 months.

The Kia Seltos is available with 3 BS6-ready engines – a 1.4-litre turbo petrol, a 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. A 6-speed manual gearbox driving the power to the front wheels come as standard. Other transmission options include a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (1.4L turbo petrol), a CVT automatic (1.5L petrol) and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic (1.5-litre diesel).
