Kia Seltos Beats Creta To Become India’s Top Selling Mid-Size SUV
In its very first month of arrival, the Kia Seltos has registered record sales of 6,236 units. With such impressive sales figures, it has outsold Hyundai Creta and become the top-selling mid-size SUV in the country. The latter one recorded total sales of 6,001 units in August, 2019.
In fact, the Seltos has outnumbered the Mahindra Scorpio and the newly-launched MG Hector that registered sales of 2,862 units and 2,018 units respectively.
Kia’s Anantpur based plant serves as production hub for the Seltos. The company will also export the Made-in-India units to South African, South Asian and South American countries. Currently, the SUV commands a waiting period of up to 4 months in select cities.
The new compact SUV from the Korean carmaker has been priced from Rs 9.69 lakh to Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It undercuts its arch rivals – Hyundai Creta and MG Hector – that come in the price range of Rs 9.60 lakh – Rs 14.18 lakh and Rs 12.18 lakh – Rs 16.88 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.
