Kia EV6 Launching Today – Price Expectations

Kia India is all set to launch its first electric car – the Kia EV6 in the country today. The new model will also mark the debut of Hyundai Group’s E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform) that also underpins the upcoming Hyundai IONIQ 5. The new model bookings have already been started across 15 dealerships in 12 cities.

Interested buyers can pre-book the new Kia EV6 online or at authorised dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 3 lakh. Only 100 units of the new EV6 electric crossover will be sold this year. The new model will come via Completely Built Unit (CBU) route and is expected to be priced somewhere around Rs 65 lakh to Rs 70 lakh.

Only GT Line trims will be launched in the Indian market. The new electric crossover will come in 5 exterior colour options – Red, Blue, White, Black and Silver. The new Kia EV6 is already on sale in several international markets. Deliveries for the new model are expected to commence by September 2022.

The new Kia EV6 is equipped with a single 77.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that offers a maximum range of 528km on the WLTP cycle. Using ultra-fast charging, the battery adds 100km to the range in just 4.5 minutes. The 350kW fast charger will charge the battery from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes. With a 50kW charger, the battery takes around 73 minutes to achieve 80% charging.

The RWD single motor variant offers 225bhp and 350Nm, while the AWD variant offers 321bhp and 605Nm. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in just 3.5 seconds. In terms of features, the electric crossover gets a dual 12.3-inch displays (Infotainment + Instrument Panel), ventilated & powered front seats, dual zone climate control, an electric sunroof, 8 airbags, ESC, ADAS, etc.
