Kia Electric Car In India – EV6 Trademarked, 4 Trims

Kia is getting ready to foray into the electric vehicle (EV) segment in the Indian market. While the automaker trademarked the Kia EV6 nameplate in mid 2021, it recently filed five trademark applications for EV6 Light, EV6 Air, EV6 Earth and EV6 Water. As of now, there is no official word on the upcoming Kia electric car.

Rumour has it that the company might bring in the Kia EV6 electric crossover sometime this year. The latest trademarks are likely to be used for the EV6 trims. One must note EV6 is available in Light, Wind and GT-Line trims in global markets.

Kia EV6 India Launch

The Kia EV6 electric crossover comes with the 58kWh and 77.4kWh battery pack options delivering power to the rear-mounted motor. The smaller capacity battery pack returns a claimed power of 167bhp and 349Nm of torque. It can do 0 to 100kmph in 8 seconds. The bigger capacity setup is good for 225bhp and 349Nm and it accelerates 0 to 100kmph in 7.2 seconds.

The EV6 AWD that has dual-motor system promises a combined power worth 320bhp and 604Nm of torque. It’s capable to achieve 100kmph from standstill in 5 seconds, while maintaining a top speed of 188kmph. The 77.4kWh battery pack with AWD and RWD drivetrain offer a range of 441km and 500km respectively on a full charge.

The global-spec Kia EV6 has been packed with features such as Level 2 Highway Autonomy driving and Highway Driving Assist 2. The list of features also includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest smartphone connectivity, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, wireless phone charger, 8-way power adjustable driver seat, passenger control HVAC settings and many more. The Kia electric car has lightweight and contemporary seats with fabrics created by recycled plastics.
