Kia Carnival To Get 3 Seating Options; Production Begin Early 2020
Kia Motors India will commence production of the Carnival luxury MPV by early 2020 at its Anantapur plant in Andhra Pradesh. The facility, which has an annual production capacity of 300,000 units, currently produces 800 units of the Seltos per day. In India, the Kia Carnival will be made available with a BS6-compliant 2.2L diesel engine that’s good enough for 202PS and 440Nm of torque. There will be two transmissions on offer – a 6-speed manual and an 8-speed automatic.
The global-spec Kia Carnival comes with three seating layouts – 7-seat, 8-seat and 11-seat. Here, it’s likely to be offered with 6-seat, 7-seat and 8-seat configurations along with powered sliding doors. There will be an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with latest phone app connectivity. The feature list will also include a 7-inch instrument cluster, 3-zone climate control, reverse camera with parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, lane denature warning and many more.
Compared to its arch rival – Toyota Innova Crysta, the Kia Carnival will be 380mm longer, 155mm wider and have a 310mm longer wheelbase. Though, it will be 55mm shorter than the Innova Crysta.
