Kia Carnival MPV Launch In January; Bookings Open
Kia Motors will soon roll out its second product for India – the Kia Carnival. According to a latest media report, the luxury MPV will hit showrooms in January, 2020. In fact, select dealers have already started take pre-bookings for the vehicle. Estimated to be priced between Rs 27 lakh – Rs 36 lakh (on-road), the Kia Carnival will take on the top-end trims of the Toyota Innova Crysta. Similar to the global model, the India-spec Kia Carnival will come with a 2.2L diesel engine that can be had either with a 6-speed manual gearbox or an 8-speed automatic transmission. This BS6-compliant oil burner will deliver power worth 202PS and 440Nm of torque. Globally, the luxury MPV also gets a 3.3L V6 petrol engine.
The Kia Carnival will come with the UVO connected car technology powered by an eSIM as we have seen in the Seltos compact SUV. The luxury MPV from Kia will also offer a range of comfort goodies including a three-zone climate control, powered front seats with ventilated and heated function, electric sliding doors, keyless entry with push button start, powered tailgate, rain sensing wipers and auto headlamps.
For safety purpose, there will be 8 airbags, front and rear parking sensors, a 360 degree camera, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, cruise control and hill start assist. Some of its design highlights will include Kia’s Ice Cube LED fog lamps, projector headlamps, Kia’s Tiger nose grille, LED taillamps and dual-tone alloy wheels.
