TVS Motor Company has a handful of new products for the Indian market. The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer is planning to bring in a 300cc bike – TVS Akula 310 – during this fiscal year. Besides this, the company will also foray into the electric scooter segment with an all-new product. A latest report claims that TVS is working on a more powerful version of the Jupiter scooter.
Called the TVS Jupiter 125, this new model has been recently spotted during its test rounds. However, the report further says that the engine details of the test mule aren’t yet confirmed. The spy pictures reveal that the new TVS Jupiter model will feature alloy wheels and front telescopic suspension setup. Though, it could be equipped with front disc brakes.
The new TVS Jupiter 125 might come with a 125cc engine benefited with fuel injection technology. Currently, the scooter is available with a 109.7cc, single-cylinder carburetted motor that’s good for 7.9bhp and 8Nm of torque. Some of its key features include chromed mirrors, new sunlit ivory body colour, USB charger, dual tone seat, etc.
If launched, the new TVS Jupiter 125 will take on the Honda Activa 125 and the Suzuki Access 125. It would be quite early to comment on its pricing, but we hope it to be between Rs 58,000 – Rs 65,000. Launched in 2013, the TVS Jupiter recently has achieved 2 million sales milestone in India.
In August 2017, the company introduced a limited edition of the scooter – TVS Jupiter Classic Edition. Priced at Rs 55,266 (ex-showroom, Delhi), this special edition comes with a pack of new features and a new paint scheme.
