2019 Jeep Renegade facelift has been teased for the European market. The updated model of the SUV will make its global debut tomorrow (June 6, 2018) at the Turin Motor Show in Italy. The new Renegade has also been confirmed for the Indian market. In India, the new Jeep SUV will be stacked up against the newly-launched Hyundai Creta facelift and Renault Captur/Duster. It will sit below the highly-popular Jeep Compass in the company product lineup and is estimated to be priced around 10 lakh for the base model.
The teaser shows the newly-designed X-shaped taillamp with more detailed Red LED light instead of the White reflector. Jeep has also updated the outer casing of the taillight. The older matte black finish has been replaced by the high gloss black casing. Though, the signature seven slats grille in the tail lamp remains unchanged. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Jeep’s parent company, recently announced its five year road map. The plan outlines several new product launches and an introduction of a new engine family. The carmaker also said that it will gradually discontinue all diesel engines from the European market by 2021. Though, it’s still unclear whether the company will continue to offer the new Renegade with the 120bhp, 1.6L Multijet and 140bhp, 2.0L Multijet diesel powertrains or not. The India-bound model, on the other hand, is likely to come with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol model might use the 1.4-litre turbocharged MultiAir motor, and the diesel variants could be offered with a de-tuned version of the 2.0-litre MJD oil burner. Details of the 2019 Jeep Renegade facelift are likely to be revealed in the second half of this month (June, 2018). The U.S.-spec model of the SUV is reported to be unveiled towards the end of this year. As far as India launch is concerned, the new Jeep SUV might hit our shores early next year.
