New Jeep Renegade To Debut In September 2018 – Report

Jeep Renegade Rear

The new Jeep Renegade will be the smallest and the most affordable SUV from the American carmaker in India.

Jeep had confirmed that it will launch four new models in the European market in 2018. The product lineup will include the Cherokee facelift, all-new Wrangler, Renegade facelift and the new Compass. The Jeep Renegade (updated version) will also make its way to the Indian market. Upon its launch, the Renegade will be the smallest and the most affordable SUV from the American carmaker.

A latest report claims that the new Jeep Renegade facelift will be unveiled in September 2018, followed by its public debut at a Motor Show early next year. Currently, the vehicle is in its testing phase and is expected to hit Indian shores sometime in 2019. Hyundai’s Creta SUV will be the closest rival of the Renegade in India.

On the exterior, the updated Renegade will feature new LED DRLs (daytime running lights) along with other minor cosmetic updates. While the SUV will continue to carry the bold stance, it will get the revised front grille, new Wrangler-inspired headlamps, black plastic cladding and rectangular taillamps. Inside the cabin, the SUV will see a new larger infotainment system instead of the 6.5-inch display and lots of buttons and controls. Check Out – Jeep Grand Commander 7-Seater SUV Pictures & Details

For power, the Europe-spec Jeep Renegade facelift is likely to use the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine with a 48V mild hybrid system. In India, however, the SUV will come with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol model will source its power from a 1.4-litre turbo unit and the diesel variant will come with a 140bhp, 2.0-litre motor. While the 2WD (two-wheel-drive) system will be standard across the carline, the 4WD (four-wheel-drive) system will be an optional offering.
