The next big launch from the American SUV manufacturer in India will be a three-row SUV that’s codenamed Jeep H6. Its production-ready version will be christened Jeep Meridian as the carmaker recently filed a trademark application for the ‘Meridian’ name. Based on the Compass, the new Jeep SUV will take head-to-head against multiple products right from the Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tigun AllSpace to Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster and Ford Endeavour.
Jeep Meridian India Launch

Jeep Meridian Engine Specs
As mentioned above, the upcoming Jeep 7-seater SUV will be based on the Compass. The Meridian will share its powertrain with its younger sibling. However, the 2.0L, 4-cylinder diesel engine will be tuned for generating extra power. It’s likely to offer power close to 200bhp. A 9-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox will be standard across the model lineup.
Rumour has it that the new Jeep three-row SUV could be offered with 48V mild hybrid powertrain featuring a BSG (belt-driven starter generator). Jeep Meridian Features
In order to offer premium experience, the American SUV maker will pack the upcoming new 7-seater with lots of goodies. The list will include a touchscreen infotainment system with latest smartphone connectivity, a digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, cooled seats and more. The ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) might also be on offer. Material quality, fit and finish will be better than the Compass. It will come with both 6 and 7-seats layouts featuring captain chairs and a bench-style seat in the middle row.
