Jeep Compass Trailhawk India Launch Delayed – Report

The Jeep Compass Trailhawk might see a release by the end of 2018 or early 2019.

If you are waiting for the Jeep Compass Trailhawk, this news will surely disappoint you. The American SUV maker has postponed the vehicle’s launch for the next few months, claims a report. The rugged, off-road version of the SUV might see a release by the end of this year or early next year. However, the company hasn’t yet conveyed official word on the same.

The reason behind the delay is said to be the upgrading of the diesel engine for meeting the upcoming Bharat Stage VI emissions norms that will be enforced in 2020. In India, the Jeep Compass Trailhawk will be introduced with a 2.0-litre diesel engine paired to a 9-speed ZF automatic gearbox. Jeep will calibrate the automatic transmission for enhancing its off-road capabilities. Features such as Jeep’s Selec-Terrain Traction Management System with a new ‘Rock Mode’, hill descent control, locking axles and high ground clearance will further aid to its off-road performance. Feature-wise, the Jeep Compass Trailhawk will be richer than standard model. Some of its key features include a larger 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, leather wrapped steering wheel, black leather interior with red highlights, Trailhawk moniker on the seats and gear lever and panels with red highlights. In terms of pricing, the Jeep Compass Trailhawk will be around Rs 2.5 lakh more expensive than the regular model. Speculations suggest that it could be priced between Rs 24.5 lakh – Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom).
