The Indian automobile industry is just a few months away to make a shift from BS4 to BS6 norms. All car manufacturers and component suppliers are in the process of upgrading their product lineups and meet the deadline. According to a latest media report, the BS6 Jeep Compass will hit showrooms in January 2020. With the upgrade, the SUV lineup will also witness a price hike by 5 to 7%. That means, all variants will get expensive by around Rs 80,000 – Rs 1.1 lakh.

One must note that the prices of the Jeep Compass Trailhawk will remain unchanged. The trail-rated model already comes with the BS6-ready 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbocharged Multijet diesel engine paired to a 9-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. Its power and torque outputs stand at 173bhp and 350Nm respectively.

The Jeep Compass (BS4-compliant) comes with a 163PS, 1.4L turbocharged petrol and a 173PS 2.0L diesel engine option. Currently, its prices start from Rs 15.60 lakh for Sport petrol variant and go up to Rs 23.11 lakh for Limited AWD diesel variant. The rugged Trailhawk has been priced at Rs 26.8 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
