The 2019 Hyundai Tucson Facelift is reportedly to be launched in May 2019

We informed you earlier that Hyundai will launch the Tucson facelift in India in 2019. Though the exact launch date is yet to be announced, a latest media report claims that the launch will happen in May 2019. The refreshed SUV is already on sale in select international markets, and was first previewed at the 2018 New York Motor Show.

In terms of design changes, the Hyundai Tucson facelift gets re-styled front fascia with revised headlights. The headlights are now full LEDs. The vehicle gets Hyundai’s signature cascade grille, new fog lamp housings and revised bumper. Side profile largely remains the same, except for the new set of alloy wheels. The rear too receives minor changes in the form of revised tail-lights and bumper.

The 2019 Tucson also gets several high-end features including autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, 360-degree surround view camera and adaptive cruise control. Inside the cabin, the refreshed Tucson features updated 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. In terms of mechanics, the Hyundai Tucson facelift is expected to remain unchanged for Indian market. It will be offered with the same 155bhp, 2.0-litre petrol and a 185bhp 2.0-litre diesel engines. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. The Hyundai Tucson facelift will lock horns against the Jeep Compass and the upcoming MG SUV.

Hyundai has already started working on the next-gen Tucson SUV, which is scheduled to be launched in 2021. What’s more interesting is that the next Tucson will grow in size and will be a 7-seater SUV. It will come as a replacement for the Santa Fe.
