We have reported earlier that FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles), the parent company of Jeep, will further expand the Compass SUV lineup in the Indian market. Talking to a media publication, Kevin Flynn, MD of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles India, has confirmed that the Jeep Compass Black Pack Edition will soon arrive in the market.
While the Jeep Compass Black Pack Edition launch has been slated to happen during 2018 festive season, it’s still not clear whether will come as limited edition or offered as a package on the existing variants. Read – Upcoming Jeep SUVs In India
The Jeep Compass Black Pack Edition will get extensive black treatment including the black alloy wheels, black roof and black mirrors. The interior will also feature sporty black theme. Mechanically, the special edition is likely to remain unchanged. That means, the SUV will use the same 2.0L Multijet diesel motor that’s good for 170bhp and 350Nm of torque. Kevin Flynn also revealed that the SUV will get a new trim based on the top-spec – the Jeep Compass ‘Limited Plus’. Scheduled to hit showrooms in coming months, this new variant will come with some additional comfort features such as a larger 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a power driver’s seat and a sunroof.
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk, the off-road version of the SUV, is also ready to hit roads early next year. This tail-rated version will debut with a 9-speed automatic transmission with Jeep’s Selec-Terrain traction control system and an additional Rock mode. It will be power-packed with a 2.0L Multijet II diesel engine churning out 168bp and 350Nm of torque.
Talking about Jeep’s future plan, the American SUV marker will introduce the updated version of the Wrangler and Cherokee SUVs sometime next year. The company will also foray into the sub-4 meter SUV space with an all-new product. It will also introduce the new Jeep Renegade against Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster in India.
