Jeep Commander 7-Seater SUV (Fortuner Rival) Rendered

We reported earlier that Jeep’s upcoming 7-seater SUV could be called the Jeep Commander. The company has released a teaser, which shows the front grille design. Codenamed H6, the new Jeep 7-seater SUV will be launched in the Indian market in the end of 2021 or early 2022. The new SUV will rival the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and the Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace.

The Jeep Commander 7-seater SUV has been caught testing numerous times in India as well in select international markets. Digital artist, Kleber Silva has released new renderings, which shows the possible design of the upcoming SUV. The rendering is designed on the basis of spy shots available on the internet.

The front fascia of the Jeep Commander in the rendering is inspired by the updated Compass SUV. It features the typical seven-slot front grille with a honeycomb pattern, which is inspired by the Grand Cherokee L. The SUV gets new front bumper and slightly redesigned headlight. There are auxiliary headlights that are highlighted in the bumper. The lower air intake has small rectangles with rounded corners.

The Jeep Commander has a glass on the “C” column, which will reduce the claustrophobic effect on the third-row occupant. The SUV has an elongated body and will ride on longer wheelbase. The rear profile of the Commander is inspired by the bigger siblings. It features a vertically stacked trunk lid, Compass-like taillamps with LED inserts, a chrome lining connecting the taillamps and licensing plate on the trunk lid.

The upcoming 7-seater SUV is expected to come with ADAS system, which offer features like adaptive speed control (ACC), frontal collision warning with automatic braking and lane change monitoring with active correction, semi-automatic parking, and blind spot monitoring system with automatic high beam control. It will be powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged diesel engine, which is likely to produce around 200bhp and over 400Nm of torque. It will be paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission.
