Production of the new Jawa motorcycles takes place at the company’s Pithampur based plant in a single shift. The facility manufactures 200 units per shift. The bikemaker said that its primary concern is to achieve good production quality consistently and then increase the output to reduce waiting period. Currently, the Jawa bikes command a waiting period of over 6 months.

Jawa Jawa and Jawa Forty Two are propelled by a 293cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor generating power worth 27bhp with 28Nm of torque. This powertrain meets the BSVI emission standards. Both bikes underpin the double cradle frame and share most of styling elements. For braking purpose, the Jawa bikes have 280mm disc with floating caliper and ABS and 153mm drum brake at the front and rear axles respectively.

Reports suggest that Classic Legends will bring in the dual-channel ABS models of the Jawa and Jawa Forty Two. The new variants, with dual-channel ABS and rear disc brake, will be priced slightly premium (around Rs 9,000) than the standard models. The ABS versions are likely to be launched in the second quarter of 2019.
