Jawa Motorcycles will introduce a bigger and more powerful engine to its Jawa and Jawa 42 bike lineup. Both models will receive the newly-launched Perak’s 334cc motor that meets the upcoming BS6 emission norms.
The bigger displacement engine pushes out a peak power of 30.4PS and 31Nm of torque. That said, the new Jawa and Jawa 42 will be around 3PS more powerful and 3Nm torqueier than the existing models that use 293cc engine.
The carmaker might upgrade the Jawa and Jawa 42’s existing 293cc engine to meet the BS6 standards at a later stage. The more powerful version of the Jawa bikes will hit roads in mid 2020. Currently, the Jawa and Jawa 42 are available at Rs 1.64 lakh and Rs 1.55 lakh respectively (ex-showroom). With bigger and more powerful engine, the new models are likely to witness price hike of around Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000.
Talking about the new Jawa Perak, the bobber has been priced at Rs 1.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Official bookings of the bike will begin from January 2020 and deliveries will be commenced from 1st April.
