Jawa Forty Two

Here we bring you 5 important things to know about the Jawa Forty Two.

The iconic Jawa nameplate is finally back in the Indian market. Classic Legends, Mahindra’s subsidiary has introduced the 3 new Jawa bikes – Jawa, Jawa Forty Two and Jawa Perak Custom. The Forty Two is the brand’s entry-level model, which will challenge the Royal Enfield Classic 350. The motorcycle will be sold through exclusive Jawa dealerships. The company currently has 65 dealerships, which will reach to 105 in the next 1 year. Here we bring you 5 important things to know about the Jawa Forty Two.

– Most Affordable Jawa

The Jawa Forty Two is available at a price tag of Rs 1.55 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the Jawa is priced at Rs 1.64 lakh. It is the most affordable Jawa in India right now. While the Jawa resembles the original model, the Forty Two is a modern iteration of this iconic bike.

– Engine & Transmission

The Jawa Forty Two is powered by a 293cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that also powers the Jawa. It is based on the Mahindra’s Mojo engine, but engineers have tuned this powertrain heavily to suit the needs of this Classic motorcycle. This fuel-injected engine is capable of producing 27bhp of power and 28Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox. – Design & Styling

The Forty Two is basically the toned-down version of the Jawa Classic. With less chrome treatment and brighter shades, the new model looks more modern than the Classic. It features large fuel tank, round headlamp with chrome bezel, blacked-out handlebar with bar end mirrors and flat bench seat. There is classic gold pinstrip on the fuel tank and the flared mud-guard, which gives it a retro-styling. The bike features the signature cigar-shaped twin exhaust pipes.
