Jawa Forty Two

The Jawa Classic and Forty Two are priced at Rs 1.64 lakh and Rs 1.55 lakh respectively

Mahindra-owned Classic Legends had re-introduced the Jawa nameplate in the Indian market in November last year. The company had introduced 3 new motorcycles – the Jawa Classic, Jawa 42 and the Jawa Perak Bobber. The company has initially introduced the Classic and Forty Two, while the Perak Bobber will arrive on a later stage. Now, the company has officially started delivering the new motorcycles to customers.

The company is also working on expanding its dealership network and is aiming at 100 dealerships across the country by the end of March 2019. Jawa has already informed the customers who will get the deliveries this month, while the ones getting deliveries in April will be informed on March 31, 2019.

Jawa had introduced the Classic and Forty two at Rs 1.64 lakh and Rs 1.55 lakh respectively (ex-showroom, Delhi). Classic Legends is targeting around 7,500 units per month sales of the motorcycles. The custom Jawa Perak Bobber was introduced at Rs 1.89 lakh, though the delivery for this motorcycle is expected to commence in the end of 2019. Also See – Jawa 300 Vs Royal Enfield Classic 350

Both Jawa and Jawa Forty Two are powered by a 293cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that produces a maximum power output of 27bhp and a peak torque of 28Nm. Based on the double cradle frame, the new Jawa motorcycles get 280mm disc with floating caliper up front coupled to ABS (anti-lock braking system) and 153mm rear drum brake.

The Jawa Perak Bobber is propelled by a 334cc, DOHC, liquid-cooled, 4-valve, fuel-injected engine that produces 30bhp of power and 31Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle gets dual disc brakes and dual-channel ABS as standard. It is based on the slightly modified chassis that underpins the Classic and Jawa Forty Two. The motorcycle gets a single cantilever seat, mono-shock suspension and a redesigned swingarm.
