Jaguar India has further expanded the F-Type sports car range with the addition of two AWD (all-wheel-drive) range-topping models and a special edition. While the Jaguar F-Type SVR Convertible is priced at Rs 2.63 crore and the SVR Coupe is made available at Rs 2.45 crore (all, ex-showroom Delhi).
Official bookings for both the two-seaters are open across the country. Though, deliveries might begin in the next 5 to 6 months. One must note that the delivery time will vary with the customisation. In India, the Jaguar F-Type SVR Coupe takes on the Porsche 911 Turbo S, Nissan GT-R and the recently-launched Mercedes-AMG GT R. On the other side, the Jaguar F-Type SVR Convertible goes up against the Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet.
The F-Type SVR is the latest creation from Jaguar’s SVR (Special Vehicle Operations) division, which is known for creating powerful, high-tech laden, exceptionally luxurious and stunning cars. The new models of the sports car have reconfigured aerodynamics for better grip and Jaguar’s AWD technology for maximum traction at all times.
Powering the new F-Type SVR Convertible and SVR Coupe is the recalibrated 5.0-litre V8 engine that makes it the most powerful production car ever from the house of Jaguar. This supercharged V8 unit can do 0-100kmph in just 3.7 seconds. While the Coupe with a kerb weight of 1,705kg offers a top speed of 322kmph (200mph), the Convertible version with 1,720kg of weight can deliver a top speed of 314kmph. With these figures, the new F-Type SVR models become 25bhp more powerful than the F-Type R. Transmitting power to the wheels is an 8-speed Quickshift automatic gearbox. Just to jog your memory, Jaguar F-Type Convertible was introduced in India with a 495bhp producing engine. The company revealed its facelifted version for global markets early this year. The new Convertible model makes 544bhp against 550bhp of F-Type Coupe.
On the other hand, the British Design Edition special edition features the standard 3.0-litre V6 supercharged petrol engine that’s good for 380bhp and 460Nm of torque. The Jaguar F-Type SVR Coupe features new aerodynamic elements and runs on new 20-inch forged alloy wheels in Satin Grey finish and Pirelli P ZERO tyres. Its tyres are 10mm wider than the standard F-Type tyres improving its grip and handling. The car also receives a carbon-fibre rear wing, a lightweight titanium and Inconel exhaust, active aerodynamic carbon fiber rear spoiler, rear venture, unique front bumper with large intakes. Inside, the new F-Type SVR model gets a heated SVR-branded leather steering wheel with aluminium gearshift paddles and SVR performance seats.
