Jeep Compass is the latest ride of Bollywood diva, Jacqueline Fernandez. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) India has gifted this premium 5-seater SUV to popular Bollywood actress. In fact, the company has released the pictures and made an official announcement on the same on its official facebook page. Few days back, we informed you Saif Ali Khan has bought the new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, which is the fastest Jeep SUV on sale in India. However, media reports suggest that Jeep India had gifted this SUV to the actor. This model was gifted in return for marking promotion from Saif. It is now a common practice from high-end carmakers to gift cars to celebrities in India in return of marketing promotion.
Talking about Jeep Compass, this is the most affordable Jeep SUV currently on sale in the Indian market. It is locally developed at FCA’s Ranjangaon facility. The popular 5-seater premium SUV directly rivals the Hyundai Tucson and Mahindra XUV500. The Compass is available in both petrol and diesel guise that includes a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol and a 2.0-litre Multijet turbo diesel. While the former is capable of producing 160bhp and 250Nm of torque, the oil burner is good for 170bhp and 350Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed, twin-clutch automatic gearbox (Petrol Only). Jeep will soon launch the diesel automatic version of the Compass, which will be equipped with a 9-speed automatic unit.
