Innova Crysta Delisted From Toyota Website; Upgraded Model Coming Soon

After revealing the new-gen Innova Hycross, Toyota India has removed the Innova Crysta from its official website. In fact, Toyota had stopped taking new bookings for the Crysta diesel. This creates a speculation that the popular people mover has been discontinued from our market; that’s not the case. Toyota will bring back the upgraded Innova Crysta with diesel fuel option, which will be sold alongside the existing Innova Hycross.

The new Toyota Innova Hycross will be offered with petrol and hybrid versions. On the other hand, Toyota will continue to sell the existing Innova Crysta with a diesel avatar. The diesel Crysta will mainly target the fleet operators and customers looking to buy diesel MPV. Due to supply chain constraints and semiconductors shortage, Toyota had to stop taking bookings for the diesel Crysta.

2020 Toyota Innova Crysta Price

A new media report claims that Toyota will start production of the Innova Crysta diesel from February 2023 onwards. The company aims to produce about 2,000-2,500 units of the MPV. Toyota will have to upgrade its diesel engine to meet the upcoming Indian Real Drive Emission Norms. The Fortuner and the Innova Crysta will be offered with diesel engine option. Diesel still accounts for more than 50 per cent of sales in the MPV segment.

We reported earlier that Toyota will give some upgrade the Crysta before its re-introduction in our market. The delisting from the official website is temporary and the new model is expected to appear again in the first quarter of 2023. Toyota could also use the Auto Expo 2023 stage to showcase the upgraded Crysta along with the price announcement of the Innova Hycross. The Crysta will continue to be offered with the existing 150bhp, 2.4-litre diesel engine. The facelifted model will retain the existing ladder-frame chassis as it’s capable to tow heavy loads and cover long distances even on patchy roads with high ground clearance.

Toyota Innova Hycross Booking amount

The Toyota Innova Hycross, on the other hand, will come with two engine options – a 172bhp, 2.0L petrol and a petrol-hybrid 2.0L with Toyota’s 5th-gen strong hybrid tech offering a combined power of 183bhp. The Innova Hybrid is claimed to deliver a fuel efficiency of 21.1kmpl. It also comes with a large panoramic sunroof, ADAS tech, a 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, powered second-row seats with ottoman function, 360 degree camera, etc.
