Sales figures of July, 2018 are finally out. And here we take a look at the top 10 best-selling SUVs and crossovers of the country. Maruti Vitara Brezza is, undoubtedly, the topper that crossed 3 lakh sales milestone in just 20 months of its arrival in the market. With this achievement, it becomes India’s fastest selling SUV. In July 2018, the Indo-Japanese carmaker sold 14181 units of the Vitara Brezza. The top variants of the SUV account 56 percent of its total sales.
Hyundai’s Creta, that received its first facelift in May, stood at the second position with total sales of 10423 units. In just two months, the SUV received over 40,000 bookings showing the kind of popularity it’s enjoying here. The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross registered sales of 5308 units as opposed to 2895 units of the same month last year, accounting a growth of 83 percent. Currently, it’s the top-selling crossover of the country.
With sales of 4040 units, the Ford EcoSport grabbed the fourth spot in the list. Compared to the July 2017, though, the compact SUV witnessed a fall of 8 percent. Mahindra Scorpio stood at the fifth rank with total sales of 3876 units. India’s two popular compact SUVs – Tata Nexon and Honda WR-V – took a hold on the sixth and seventh positions with sales of 3840 units and 3386 units respectively.
Mahindra’s XUV500 and TUV300 are also generating decent volume for the home-grown carmaker. In July, both the SUVs stood at the eighth and ninth ranks with sales of 2766 units and 2091 units respectively. Toyota’s Fortuner is surely India’s best-selling fully-fledged premium SUV, but it gets tenth spot in the list of top 10 selling SUVs/Crossovers in July 2018.
