SUVs are selling like hot cakes in India. The Sport Utility Vehicles have always been favoured for their rugged looks, off-road capabilities, efficiency and practicality. At present, buyers have ‘N’ number of options in the SUV segment across different price ranges. Talking about 7-seater SUVs, Mahindra’s Bolero, Scorpio and XUV700 are ruling the sales chart, which are followed by the Toyota Fortuner and Hyundai Alcazar. Here’re prices and key details of India’s 5 top-selling 7-seater SUVs.

Mahindra Bolero

Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus Features

In February 2023, the home-grown automaker managed to sell 9,782 units of the Mahindra Bolero as opposed to 11,045 units in the same month last year. It recorded a sales decline of 11 percent. Under the hood, the Bolero houses a 1.5L diesel engine that makes a top power of 75bhp and 210Nm of torque. The Mahindra Bolero Neo comes with a 1.5L diesel motor that’s good for 100bhp and 240Nm. Transmission on offer is a 5-speed manual unit. Prices of the Bolero start from Rs 9.78 lakh and go up to Rs 10.79 lakh. The Bolero Neo 7-seater is currently available within the price range of Rs 9.63 lakh – Rs 12.14 lakh.

Mahindra Scorpio

New Mahindra Scorpio N 2022 Launch Price

A total of 6,950 units of the Mahindra Scorpio were sold last month against 2,610 units in February 2022, registering 166 percent growth. The Scorpio N is being offered with the 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel engines, making 132bhp/300Nm and 175bhp/370Nm (MT)/400Nm (AT) respectively. The gasoline unit delivers power worth 203bhp and 370Nm (MT)/380Nm (AT). The Scorpio Classic derives power from a 2.2L Gen 2 mHawk diesel motor offering 132bhp and 300Nm. While the Mahindra Scorpio N costs between Rs 12.74 lakh – Rs 24.05 lakh, the Scorpio Classic is priced from Rs 12.64 lakh – Rs 16.14 lakh.

Mahindra XUV700

Mahindra’s flagship SUV – XUV700 – recorded total sales of 4,505 units in February 2023 against 4,138 units in corresponding month previous year. The SUV clocked sales growth of 9 percent. Engine options of the Mahindra XUV700 includes a 2.0L turbo petrol and a 2.2L mHawk diesel offering 200bhp with 380Nm and 155bhp with 360Nm/185bhp with 420Nm (MT)/450 (AT) respectively. At present, the SUV model lineup comes within the price range of Rs 13.45 lakh – Rs 25.48 lakh.

Toyota Fortuner

Toyota’s Fortuner SUV stood at number four with total sales of 3,426 units as opposed to 1,848 units in the same month previous year, accounting a massive growth of 85 percent. The 7-seater SUV can be had with either a 2.7L petrol (166bhp/245Nm) or a 2.8L (204bhp/420Nm) diesel engine. Its 4X2 MT and 4X2 AT petrol variants are priced at Rs 32.59 lakh and Rs 34.18 lakh respectively. The diesel variants cost between Rs 35.09 lakh – Rs 50.34 lakh.

Hyundai Alcazar

Hyundai Alcazar Price List

In February 2023, the South Korean automaker retailed 1,559 units of the Hyundai Alcazar against 2516 units in the same month last year. Prices of the SUV model lineup start from Rs 16.71 lakh and go up to Rs 21.10 lakh. It comes with both petrol and diesel engine options. Powering the petrol model is a 2.0L, 4-cylinder unit making 159bhp and 192Nm and the diesel version derives power from a 1.5L, 4-cylinder turbo motor that’s good for 115bhp and 250Nm.
