India’s 2 Popular Subcompact SUVs To Get Updates In June 2022

India’s two highly-popular sub-4 metre SUVs, Maruti Vitara Brezza and Hyundai Venue, are ready to receive updates next month (i.e. June 2022). While the former will enter into its second-generation, the latter will witness a mid-life update.

Here’re key details of the new 2022 Maruti Brezza and Hyundai Venue facelift that we know so far.

The model was recently caught on camera during its commercial TVC shoot in Gurugram. The images reveal confirm that the SUV will go through comprehensive design changes. Its front looks completely differed with newly-designed headlamps merging into the grille, twin C-shaped LED DRLs, revised front fenders, updated bonnet, a silver faux skid plate and matte black bumper with a faux bull bar. It also gets new rear bumper, slimmer wraparound taillamps and pronounced silver faux skid plate.

With the generation change, the Brezza will get several new goodies including a larger infotainment system with the new Smartplay Pro+, a sunroof, a 360 degree camera, paddle shifters for automatic variants, connected car tech and more. The new 2022 Maruti Brezza will come with the updated 1.5L K15C naturally aspirated petrol engine making 103bhp and 136Nm. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. Prices of the updated Hyundai Venue are likely to be revealed by mid June 2022. This time around, the carmaker will also introduce the Hyundai Venue N-Line variant featuring sportier design elements. Most of the changes will be cosmetic including the new-generation Tucson-inspired grille, tweaked bumpers and new L-shaped taillamps.

Inside, there could be a full digital instrument cluster, new steering wheel with mounted controls and updated infotainment unit. No changes will be made to its engines. The new 2022 Hyundai Venue facelift will continue to come with a 1.2L petrol and a 1.5L diesel engine. The 1.0L turbo petrol engine will be made available with the Venue N-Line variant.
