India-bound Suzuki Vitara SUV – What To Expect?
The Maruti Vitara will take on the Hyundai Creta and the Mahindra XUV500 in India.
The new Suzuki Vitara SUV facelift was unveiled for the global markets in July, 2018. The updated version of the SUV could be named the ‘Vitara Series II’ in markets like Australia. Production of the new Vitara has already been commenced in Hungary. Suzuki’s flagship SUV has also been spotted testing in India, though there is no official word about its launch.
Even if India is on the launch radar, the new Suzuki Vitara (Maruti Suzuki Vitara) might hit showrooms next year. It will be positioned against the Hyundai Creta and Mahindra XUV500 in our market. Here’s what you can expect from the Maruti Vitara SUV.
1. Refreshing Looks
While the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza measures sub-4 meter in length, the upcoming Vitara SUV will be around 4.2 meters long. Suzuki claims that it has optimized the car’s shape for better aerodynamic performance. Compared to its predecessor, the 2019 Suzuki Vitara looks refreshing thanks to its revised front bumper, new grille with chrome finished vertical slats, new light clusters at the front end and newly-designed taillamps. 2. Quality Interior

3. Features Loaded
The carmaker has equipped the 2019 Suzuki Vitara (Maruti Vitara) with a pack of new comfort and safety features. All variants of the SUV (global-spec) are loaded with Auto Emergency Braking (AEB), lane departure warning and assistance, traffic-sign recognition, blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert as standard fitments. It also gets adaptive cruise control and radar brake support.
4. Powertrain
The SUV’s spotted model was powered by a 1.6-litre diesel engine that’s good for 118bhp. For transmission duties, it gets a 6-speed manual gearbox. Official details of the India-bound Maruti Vitara SUV are yet to be revealed by the carmaker. 5. Competitive Pricing
If launched in India, the new Maruti Vitara SUV will be stacked up against the Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and Mahindra XUV500. To achieve competitive pricing, the carmaker will produce the SUV high-level of localization. Speculations suggest that its prices will start from Rs 12 lakh and go up to Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom).
