Hyundai Verna facelift, i10 Nios Turbo to debut at Auto Expo 2020

Korean automaker, Hyundai will unveil the long-awaited Verna facelift at the 2020 Auto Expo. Adding to it, a new media report claims that the Grand i10 Nios turbo model will also be unveiled at the biennial event. The company will also showcase the next-gen Creta SUV in the presence of Bollywood Superstar – ShahRukh Khan on February 6, 2020.

The Hyundai Verna facelift will share styling cues from the Chinese-spec 2020 Verna; however, the updated model will receive some India-specific changes. The Chinese-spec model comes with aggressive and flashy front with new headlamp set-up, prominent 3-D radiator grille and updated bumper. At the back, it gets bigger bumper and connected tail-lamps. The side profile remains the same, except for the new set of alloys. Inside the cabin, the sedan gets a larger 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and new 12.3-inch digital LCD instrument console.

The Hyundai Verna facelift will receive the new BSVI compliant 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. While the petrol unit is good for 115bhp and 144Nm of torque, the oil burner produces 115bhp and 250Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic transmission options will be on offer. The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Turbo model will receive the new 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that also powers the Aura compact sedan. This engine is capable of producing 99bhp of power and 172Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox. The standard variant is available with 1.2-litre petrol and 1.2-litre diesel engines.
