Hyundai will launch the much-anticipated Venue compact SUV today in India. This model will also be revealed at the 2019 New York Motor Show. Ahead of the official unveil, Hyundai USA has released a new teaser video which shows the front design of the Venue compact SUV.

It is clear that the new Hyundai Venue’s design is inspired by the bigger Hyundai SUVs including Santa Fe and Kona. It features a squarish front profile with signature cascading grille with chrome embellishment and new twin-setup headlamp unit. There is a slim LED daytime running light on the top and the main headlight on the lower side of the bumper. The SUV will be equipped with several segment-leading features and will come as a premium model. It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 8 lakh – Rs 12 lakh.

The Hyundai Venue will rival the likes of Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and the Maruti Vitara Brezza. The interior images of the compact SUV have already been leaked on the interior. It gets a large 8-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, which will be compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The SUV is also fitted with the brand’s new Blue Link connectivity technology, which offers 33 connected car features out of which 10 are India specific.

Media reports claim that the Hyundai Venue will mark the debut of the new 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that is likely to produce over 110bhp of power and 170Nm of torque. This engine is expected to be paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The diesel version will get the 1.4-litre U2 CRDi unit that is capable of producing 89bhp and 220Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox.
