Hyundai Venue Gets 75,000 Bookings; 42,681 Units Delivered In 5 Months

It’s been just 5 months the Hyundai Venue arrived in India and has been selling like hot cakes ever since then. Between May and September, the cumulative sales of the subcompact SUV stood at 42,681 units.

The South Korean carmaker has received over 75,000 bookings for the Venue. Among its 11 variants, the SX DCT and the fully-loaded SX (O) trims with the BlueLink connected car technology have seen the maximum demand.

In July and August 2019, the Hyundai Venue outsold its arch rival – Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. Though, the latter one continued to lead the segment in month of June and September. Engine setup of the Hyundai Venue includes two petrol and one diesel motor. The petrol variants are available with a 1.0L turbocharged and a 1.2L petrol motor naturally-aspirated powertrain options. While the former makes power worth 118bhp with 172Nm, the latter one delivers 82bhp with 114Nm.

The smaller capacity petrol motor can be had either with a manual transmission or an all-new 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The 1.2L gasoline unit is made available with a 5-speed manual gearbox only. The diesel models are powered by a 1.4L diesel engine that’s tuned for generating a maximum power of 89bhp against 220Nm of torque. The oil burner is paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Hyundai Venue, India’s first connected SUV, comes with the BlueLink technology that provides 33 connectivity features (including 10 India specific features) such as including geo-fencing, SOS, panic notifications, speed alerts, road-side assistance, destination sharing and more.

All variants of the Hyundai Venue gets dual airbags, seatbelt reminder, ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution), high speed alert and reverse parking sensors as standard safety fitments.
