The Hyundai Venue will also mark the debut of brand’s new 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine.

The Korean automaker, Hyundai has officially revealed the much-awaited sub-4 meter SUV – the Hyundai Venue in India. Scheduled to be launched on May 21, 2019, the new Venue will rival the likes of Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport and the higher variants of Tata Nexon and the Maruti Vitara Brezza. Unofficial bookings of the new model have already been commenced at a token amount of Rs 50,000.

The Hyundai Venue will also mark the debut of brand’s new 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. This engine is capable of producing 120PS of power and 172Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. It is also the only model in its category to offer dual-clutch automatic gearbox option. The other two engine options include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.4-litre U2 CRDi diesel. While the former is good for 83bhp and 115Nm of torque, the oil burner produces 89bhp and 220Nm of torque. The petrol engine is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the diesel unit comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. In terms of proportions, the new Venue is 3,995mm in length, 1,770mm in width and 1,590mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,500rpm.

The Hyundai Venue also gets several high-end safety features including 6 airbags, speed sensing auto door lock, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), HAC (Hill Assist Control), BAS (Brake Assist System) and ISOFIX. The Hyundai Venue is the only SUV in its category to offer connected car features. Some of the features include electric sunroof, cruise control, air purifier, wireless charger, voice recognition, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Arkamys Sound, rear air con vents, cornering lamps, glove box cooling, projector fog lamps, wheel air curtains, etc.
