The much-awaited Hyundai Venue sub-4 meter SUV will go on sale in the Indian market on May 21, 2019. Hyundai dealers have already started taking pre-orders for the upcoming compact SUV at a token amount of Rs 50,000, though official bookings are yet to commence. The Hyundai Venue is the brand’s smallest SUV, which will take on the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and the Mahindra XUV300. The SUV will be positioned slightly premium over the competition and is likely to be priced in the range of Rs 8 lakh – Rs 12 lakh. Korean automaker is aiming to develop close to 9,000 units of the SUV each month at its Sriperumbudur factory.
The Hyundai Venue compact SUV will be available with 3 engine options – a 118bhp, 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol, a 83bhp, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 89bhp, 1.4-litre U2 CRDi diesel. The turbocharged petrol engine will be offered with two transmission options – segment-first 7-speed dual-clutch and a six-speed manual. While the 1.2L petrol unit will be paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the diesel engine will come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Hyundai Venue is claimed to be the most advanced and feature-loaded SUV in its segment. It features the brand’s advanced Blue Link connectivity solution, which has 33 connected technologies out of which 10 are India specific. The SUV is fitted with features like electric sunroof, cruise control, air purifier, wireless charger, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, etc. In terms of safety and security, the Hyundai Venue gets 6 airbags, speed sensing door lock, ESC, VSM, HAC, Brake assist, ABS with EBD, etc.
