Hyundai to launch 6 new SUVs in India – New Creta to Venue

Hyundai to launch new Creta, Venue, i10 Active, new Tucson and an all-new mini SUV in India

The Korean automaker, Hyundai is reportedly developing 6 new utility vehicles for the Indian market. These new six models will be launched in the country over the next couple of years. The first model to be launched is the Hyundai Venue compact SUV, which is scheduled to make global debut on April 17, 2019. This year, the company will also launch the new Kona Electric SUV in India.

A new media report claims that Hyundai is also working on the next-generation i20 Active Cross-hatch, which is likely to arrive post introduction of new i20 hatchback. The company will launch the next-generation Creta in 2020, which will also receive the 7-seater version. The 7-seater Hyundai Creta is expected to be launched in India in the late 2020 or early 2021.

The report also claims that Hyundai is developing the next-generation Tucson SUV for India. This model will be offered in 2 seating layouts – 5- and- 7-seater. It is speculated that the 7-seater Tucson will take place of the Santa Fe and will be the brand’s next flagship model for the Indian market. What’s more interesting is that Hyundai is also planning to launch a micro SUV in India. This model will slot below the upcoming Venue and will challenge the likes of Mahindra KUV100 and the upcoming small SUVs like Tata H2X and the Maruti mini SUV.

Hyundai will also launch the new-generation Grand i10 in India in the end of 2019. This model will be based on the new Santro’s platform, which also underpins the upcoming Venue compact SUV. The new sub-4 meter SUV will challenge likes of Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, Maruti Vitara Brezza and the Mahindra XUV300. The Hyundai Venue is claimed to be the most advanced SUV in its category. It is equipped with segment first Hyundai BlueLink that offers 33 Connected Car Technologies out of which 10 are India specific.
